Reading Now: “White Witch, Black Curse”

The newest book in Kim Harrison’s “Hollows” series (Rachel Morgan). I’m about halfway finished.  If you’ve read the previous books, this one won’t disappoint you. If you haven’t read them, I highly recommend picking up the first one and reading them in order… otherwise certain references aren’t going to make a lot of sense. These books deal with a myriad of things like witches, shape shifters, vampires, demons, pixies, ghosts, etc. It may sound cheesy, but the entire plot line and background world is anything BUT cheesy. Very well thought out novels and a LOT of details that really pull you into the stories.

It was a tad bit hard for me to get into at first but I think it was mainly because my mind was preoccupied and not the book’s fault.

So far the main characters (Rachel, Ivy, Jenks) are at the forefront, with appearances by Al and a ghosty intruder. Not a lot going on with Trent’s gang in the first part of the book. They’re mentioned but make no appearances that I recall. (Boy is that Skimmer a bitch!) Oh yeah, the part where Rachel meets the kids in the hospital….totally had me tearing up. I’m such a wanker. Heh.

The sexual tension between Rachel and Ivy is still there. Jesus I wish they’d just make out already and let the blood flow. But that’s just my opinion. Heh.

Let you know the final thoughts as soon as I finish it.
